Board of Directors Bios

Mr. Lause serves as General Counsel for the Authority, overseeing legal affairs, with particular focus on litigation, contracts, compliance and governance. He joined the Authority in 2015, where he previously served as Acting General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel. In his prior roles, Mr. Lause spent a great deal of time on the Authority’s Borrower Protection efforts, seeking to identify and investigate third-party debt relief companies, and the impact of these companies on student loan borrowers. Mr. Lause is a graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law and the University of Mississippi.
